  1. This is a disgusting example of a black man being railroaded by the racist south. (and I say this as a White female). I cannot believe that this man is still in prison, it sickens me. I pray that Mr. Simmons gets the opportunity he deserves to prove his innocence. This is nothing but a travesty of justice and it's obvious to any thinking person. Mr. Simmons, hang in there.

  2. Even though this happen back in 1977, even then Americans thought after Kennedy & Doctor Martin Luther King were both shot, that we had learned some things about Racism? Guess not. The south has always been know to charge the Black Man to just get the case closed and push them through the Court & Justice systems.

How the hell do you lock up a man for a crime with NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE? Only a couple witness's words? Was there any DNA left from the case that can be relooked at? Sounds pretty unjust to me. He should be set free!

  3. I am currently watching a documentary called the farm that features Vincent's story.
I am disgusted to hear this man is behind bars still.
I live in Australia and his story has touched hearts over here.
I am a white female and believe this is racist at its worst.
How anyone could give a 100 year sentence to somebody with no dna evidence is disgusting.
The police put him in a line up as the only man there with hand cuffs on, they may as well have given him a sign to hold saying "pick me"
I am sickened by how poorly this man has been treated. Innocent until proven GUILTY, there's no DNA proof, doctors report saying the girls who claimed to be brutally raped were still virgin after examination.
The only proof in this case is that of the doctors report which indicates he is innocent.
He has been denied his freedom long enough, set him free!!!!

  5. A shocking and disgusting example of how little justice there is in a supposedly civilised nation. All you no doubt good Christian folk had better hope there is no final judgement.

  9. What a failure of a racist justice system. Watching the documentary of his poll board hearing was one of the saddest things I have ever seen. America shame on you

  10. I am sickened by this story! Where is Obama on this? I did a google search hoping there would be a news article outlining his release but nothing. It's 2015 and still no justice for this man.

  14. Another white woman here. Both my husband and I agree that this man was not given a fair chance at his parole hearing. While viewing The Farm, I witnessed his parole hearing. Now, I cannot say that this man is innocent, but I can say he was not given the chance to a "fair trial". At the very least

  15. Where is Obama and all the Black Preachers..?! This man at the very least deserves a new trial, or a parole release based on just the evidence at hand. The best case scenario would be a Presidential or Governor Pardon... I guess this guy and his case doesn't appeal to the press much for anyone to get involved ..?

  16. It is very clear that this man deserves a fair trial. I have researched this case and the one thing i want information on is, what really happened to the twins and why are they still lying to keep this man in jail? I believe something terrible happened to the girls (not rape because the evidence doesn't lie), but something caused them to lie (there is so much evidence to prove they repeatedly lied during the trial..their stories just didn't ad up which doesn't happen when your telling the truth), WHAT caused this horrible lie, WHO was behind it and WHY?? I saw the youtube footage of their meeting with him where they said they came to "forgive him" so they can move on. I was a criminal justice counsellor worked with victims and offenders, i can read true emotion even through the lens. They were not there to forgive him, that was a pure P.R. stunt. The tears and nervousness was guilt and fear of messing up the interview. We need to find out why the girls lied its clear why they keep lying..they don't want to go to jail, but what made them spin this web of lies to begin with and why was vincent simmons the target ???

This is scary because it can happen to anyone of us or our loved ones. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" Martin Luther King, Jr

    1. I agree with you100%! They're hiding something and if they were truly genuine in their forgiveness, why not forgive him? They were angry, in my opinion. I wonder if that guy Laborde had anything to do with it? He WAS there the night in question.

  21. The southern usa is a disgusting racist nightmare and a dishonour to democracy -- i am out raged and disgusted. The victim of the rape is a horrible racist who is happy to have an innocent man locked up .. what a coward.

  22. The doctor concluded the girls were VIRGINS after the alledged rape!!!! Free Vincent!

  23. Innocents project need to take tho case, please someone with power please get the attention needed to help free Vincent. Evidence withheld in itself is cause to be reheard. Dr. Report says victims were not penetrated, in short, signs of virginity still was intact.

  24. My heart goes out to Vincent Simmons. I hope justice is served to those girls and they get locked up for the rest of their miserable lying lives. They deserve to be sitting were he is. Anyone who sees this mans truth should call the Louisiana representatives and tell them we want justice for Vincent. That parole board should be imprisoned themselves. Imagine all the others theyve done this to. Thats to much power in those 3 mens hands. JUSTICE FOR VINCENT SIMMONS MEANS RELEASE HIM AND IMPRISON ALL INVOLVED IN HIS INCARCERATION.

  25. For the love of God,free this man! Sharon still had her hymen intact almost a month after the alleged "rape"!!!! How can anyone with a pulse and a brain ignore this fact? The parole board on "The Farm: Life Inside Angola Prison" were disgusting racist pricks! Even the black man on the parole board didn't stand up for Vincent! "All black people look alike"....that's the quote from the twins....and yet that's enough evidence to identify and convict a black man who was the only one in handcuffs in a lineup filled with other black men? How our country and our justice system can just ignore obvious facts and evidence to free an innocent man, but look for discriminatory and inconclusive evidence to convict him is beyond me!

  27. This is one of the most eggregious, racist and CRIMINAL examples of the worst of our penal system. I just finished watching the doc from 1998, and was shocked when I discovered Mr. Simmons is still incarcerated. When is the upcoming hearing? Who is advocating on behalf of Mr. Simmons? How many hundreds of like cases were prosecuted in like ways as this; how many times did the Parole Board we saw in the film behave like they were at a KKK rally, sans the hoods? (they apparently didn't need and still don't need the hoods?)
